The program replaced/modified the existing outbound baggage handling systems with new in-line outbound baggage systems that integrate the Explosion Detection System (EDS) machines and associated equipment. This solution for an in-line baggage screening system included modifications to the terminal buildings and existing baggage handling systems to accommodate the relocation of the baggage screening equipment from the ticketing lobbies to non-public areas. This work re-established ticketing lobby space for passenger queuing and more adequately secured the Baggage Handling Systems in accordance with TSA requirements.
